What to Expect With Our Dental Implant Process

Jenkins Dental Cary, NC

Our Periodontal Specialist Delivers Excellence in Care

When it comes to replacing your missing teeth, dental implants are a predictable and reliable investment in your smile. The process begins with a consultation with our experienced periodontal expert, Dr. Paul Kazmer, who has placed more than 5,000 implants over the course of his career.

As a specialty practice, we provide comprehensive dental implant services, beginning with your initial assessment all the way through the surgical placement and follow-up. Because your experience is well planned up front, there are no surprises along the way. You’ll have all of the information that you need to make an educated decision about your oral health experience.

Planning for Your Treatment

Most implant cases usually begin with a CBCT 3D scan of your mouth. This provides a very accurate image of your teeth and jaw bone, allowing for precise implant planning. Dr. Kazmer will also discuss your treatment plan with your general dentist to work out any behind-the-scenes details that need to go into your dental implant process prior to treatment.
Thanks to CBCT technology, we can map out digital placement and computer guided treatment for the most accurate dental implant experience available. Such resources make your surgery less invasive, more efficient, and significantly reduce your recovery time.

Removal, placement and restoration - the roadmap to dental implants

Types of Implant Restorations

An important part of your dental implant experience is selecting the best type of restoration for your oral health needs. In full arch replacement situations, our patients often choose between overdentures (implant supported dentures)  or All-on-4®  dental implants instead of conventional dentures. Both of these options allow you to efficiently replace all of your teeth at one time. If needed, remaining teeth can be extracted at our office instead of referring you elsewhere.

Once we’ve discussed the advantages and benefits of each of your options, we can plan the number of appointments necessary to complete the process. For most of our Cary, NC dental implant patients, the overall experience will call for 2-3 visits, including consultations an impression appointments. Dr. Kazmer aims to prevent any surprises throughout the duration of your care!
